Mid-Life Name Crisis

Well, I am giving up on the name NightShade, because firstly it is always taken, and when it is I always have to put 737 on the end which makes me look like some lame AOL user, so basically I am going to change my online Handle. May seem easy enough, but when you have used it more times than your actual name, it can be quite annoying (Plus I will probably still end up signing off everything NS).

Basically I am trying to think up some name that isn't going to be taken every single place I go. At the moment I am playing with letters from my actual name so at least is has some relevance, such as Bej or Enjin, but the problem is it always ends up sounding Indian :banghead:

Any ideas?
Or do you think Bej or Enjin would be Ok?

Argh, frustration.

Basically I thought that I thought up the name "NightShade" years before I even heard about the internet, only to my annoyance to find that there were always at least 3 other people everywhere that I wanted to be, with the same god damn name :(

How about ShadeNight? Bad idea. Yea i thought so to but had to add it anyway. I'm using a character from TV but it's hard to find one that you like that's not taken. Using you parts of name could be a good idea.

I used to have the name DavidCool, which was way, way back in the day... like 4th grade. At first I had no problem with it, but around, and after the time my Descent site (http://welcome.to/nolamers) became popular, it became harder and harder to find a place where no one was using it...

By the time I was in 9th grade, I realized A: Everyone was using my name, and B: The name sucked. So I was back to the drawing board.


What I did, was I took my last name (Skimin), which sounds like the word Skim, which made me think of Skim Milk. That's how I came across the first part.

I checked it on AIM, and too many people were using it, so I had to add a word no-one would be using.... something almost tabooed, decreasing the chances of it's use.

Well, I am Jewish...


So, TheSkimMilkJew was born! Whoohoo!

Id suggest neither of your two suggestions.. and aim for something unique, tied to a hobby... eg.. airsofting.. gotta be some decent potential nicks in there..

Well it isn't taken on BattleNet as a username OR a Character, which must mean it's pretty much unique, because there is ALWAYS a character on BattleNet with a name if someone else is going to use it (This isn't for BattleNet btw, I just use it as an example from the sheer amount of registered users).

Basically I just want a unique name. So... shall we stay with Enjin?

EDIT: Well it seems pretty much everything on AIM is taken, even if you hit random letters, most of the time it is taken, which is just plain stupid. Only one other I can see using it which is just some random person on one car forum.... but still, I dont know...

Well, both of those were taken on AIM, but, I thought.... hmm.... how about mixing them.... Enjid. What do you think? Sounds like a name, doesn't sound like part of a car, etc etc. Plus it's not taken anywhere.... Even Google only finds 4 links to insane abreviations from "Splendid".
