The boys at Gizmodo live-blogged the launch of Android and the T-Mo G1. Now that the honeymoon is over, they're presenting the top five flaws (http://gizmodo.com/5053747/android-and-t+mobile-g1s-five-most-obnoxious-flaws) of the new platform.... Can we at least rectify OUR headline to accurately reflect the source material? Especially since three of those aren't Android-related at all, they're hardware- or T-Mobile-specific complaints.

And the other half are Android-specific.

Pedantism ftl.

Sorry, I just tend to think a list of "top 5" flaws in X where three are flaws of Y and Z is irresponsible.

Yeah, to be fair to Android, the G1 has (all of) the flaws. Prior to reading, I was disappointed with Android, but after seeing the actual article compared to the heading, I'm more disappointed with the G1... some of the items DID give me a bad feeling about Google's intentions with Android though.

No, in that article 3 of the 6 flaws are Android, 3 of the 6 are the G1.

I'm not going to write a headline that says "TOP FIVE PROBLEMS WITH THE G1 AND ANDROID, BUT HALF OF THEM ARE WITH THE G1 AND HALF ARE WITH ANDROID."

Space is precious, gentlemen. There's no being unfair about it.

Yes, because "Top five obnoxious Android and G1 flaws" is MUCH longer than "Top five obnoxious Android flaws." On top of that, a video player might not be embedded beyond Youtube, but there's already a free player on the app store.

This is silly.

Yep, your right.. when you write the news.. you write the headlines

Stop being silly, it's done. :wtf:

I think you may have read too much into what I said. The G1 has all of the flaws. Until it gets a new OS, I'd say that's a fair statement; fairer than saying Android has more than it does. I don't care what the headline is, I only had an off-hand comment because it was the first thing I was thinking when I was posting. The reason I responded at all was to throw in a bit of my initial impression of the G1 and Android, because I've been curious about it; not to ask for the title of your thread to be changed. :/
