I have finally started installing my new MOBO. I notice that I can plug in the Pwr Led, the power switch, reset switch ect one way or reverse it 180 degrees and plug them in. The Mobo manual shows the # 1 pin but how do I know what the # 1 pin is from the case leads? The manual for the case is no help.

There is a triangle on each of the plugs. Does tha indicate the # 1 pin? This is a Thermaltake VA8003 case.

The easiest way, and one that goes across all devices, is to check in the book which pin is the ground and which is the hot then look at the header for the switches and LEDs and the ground is always black or white, usually black. The headers don't stick to the standard color convention for wiring so it gets a little confusing. If the manual has nothing at all you can always just plug them in and see.

Thanks _K_. So no damage will occur if I plug these in bass ackwards?

The switches will work plugged in either way. If the LEDs don't light then you have them backwards.
