Does that goofy Tweaktown site ever review any high end coolers? Seems like they have 300 reviews on $25 yawners. What's with them. Is their target audience comprised of those on tight budgets. That's fine, when I was young, I was on a tight budge, too! :)
just wondering

Perhaps they themselves just have a small budgetThey are much larger than Icrontic, and we get higher end heatsinks than they do! Hey, I've got nothing against low-end and mid-range coolers. My attitude about those classes of heatsinks: why bother? To me, it just seems like putting putting a wing on a front wheel drive car. Doesn't change anything.
The stock coolers that come with retail Intel and AMD CPU packages are actually pretty good. All you have to do is swap out the factory thermal interface material with quality TIM, and you have an immediate improvement. I guess there is an advantage with aftermarket mid-range/mid-price coolers. Some of them accept 120mm fans, which are much lower noise than most stock coolers.
