AMD to split into separate firms

It has been long rumored that an aspect of AMD's new "asset light" strategy would be the disassociation of AMD's fabrication and design divisions. While both divisions mutually benefit the other, AMD has struggled to run its operation with a flagging fabrication business. I think this is a great move. There are less than a handful of companies that can fab at this level and not only will it be nice to have one more in the game, but if this spin-off thrives then AMD should be able to pace Intel's fab process. A healthy serving of win for all.
