Does anyone know if a disk controller with VIA chips = VT6421A, VT6214L supports 48-bit LBA? It is a disk controller with SATA, IDE, and a some USB 2.0 ports on it. I would love to use it, cuz I could use the USB ports, but I need to drive an IDE disk larger than 127GB. Thanks.

OK cool. Does my motherboard BIOS have to support 48bit as well, or does this controller just have it's own BIOS and doesn't care about the motherboard? Do you know of a test program I can run on my motherboard to see if it supports 48-bit?

Sorry maxwelltf,
Missed the reply, (Fallout 3)...
This should do the 48bit mapping for you...
Formatting it from "Disk Management" will show you the full size of the drive if it's working right.
