Why, well this is all that happen this month to me. First in the beginning of
the month I get hit by a car while riding my bike. Not bad I landed on the hood,
but had to get another bike. Than two weeks later I get hit by a minivan that one
hurt I had to go to the hospital. I'm ok and had to get another bike. Than one
of my pcs crapped out Than on the 23rd I got fired. Than rehired on the 26th
(what a way to save on holiday paid). Oh another thing my pay for this month was
late and I get paid every two weeks and both checks were late. (which sucks)
The company said there was a mess up and our checks for where I work went to
the wrong place. I have to give them that. (but twice?) Now yesterday I was changing the oil in
the deep fat frier at work and someone bump me and HOT oil spilled on my hand.
Needless to say had to go to the hospital again, now my hand is wrapped up

and I have to go to my doc on monday so he can see it and say when I can
go back to work. So I see this month as a bad month, But hey the month will
be gone in 3 days. Next month got to be better.

I am so glad you weren't seriously injured by any of that. Too bad you employer couldn't have just been honest, "Hey guys, things are really, really tough right. We are going to have to...." I never have much respect for anyone that lies to you rather than tell the truth. Bad news does not get better with age or lies.
DogDragon, will you be writing new words to "12 Days of Christmas?" "...On the third day of Christmas the van rolled over me, one broken...."
Seriously, sorry about the tough times. It's good you have a community here tot vent to.
That sucks!!! Two car accidents? Stupid work..... Glad the month is almost over for you.
Glad to know you still alive and in one piece after all that!
2 accidents in a month. TWO bikes written off. Sorry to hear about your bad month. All those events really suck but two write-offs in a month? :eek3: That has to take first prize. I'm afraid to ask... are Americans just shitty drivers in general or are you just prone to riding into cars? :hair:
Sorry to hear, that really sounds terrible. How did you manage to get hit twice within 2 weeks?
Bikes are easily overlooked with the size of cars and all the distractions these days. Cell phones, radio, eating/drinking, all the lights and buttons in the car, and all the signs and blinking lights surrounding the roadways... A little motorcycle is often missed.

Dad, I know you said your hand was 4 times bigger then the other one but I have to see a pic of both hands to judge.
Just get Bonnie to take the pic. ;D;D;D;DI'm sure you can walk her thru it.
Well, Dad for the next 3 days you are here by ordered to stay at the house watching only crappy reruns on cable. This way nothing else can happen until the new year.
No cooking
No bike ridding
No fixing computers
No visits form JR
No nothing! Just watching crappy reruns.
Love you! Hope you feel better soon.
Have you read your horoscope lately? It might have saved you from some of this drama.
I wish you a healthy and injury free New Year!!!!!

No they hit me. The way I see it they were coming from a side street onto
a major road (6 lanes) and they seem to wait for other cars. But a bike
they weren't going to wait and they hit me in the middle of their front end.
That's how I ended on the hood of the car, and with the minivan I know how
a bug feels. I hit the windshield and than the road, as "for Americans just shitty
drivers in general" they not just the drivers in Jacksonville don't respect bike riders.

<cite class="ic-username"></cite>QCH2002 (http://icrontic.com/forum/member.php?u=167) you do know that my dad rides a bicycle (with out a motor). It's used to be cheap transportation but not the cost are really adding up.:tim:

At first when I started reading this thread, I thought that it was a joke or something- hit by TWO cars, lost your job, burned your hand- it's all so ridiculous! I hope you feel better Dogdragon! Your month has been bad. But let's hope for better in the new year! :D
Good gracious, DD.. Hope that hand of yours mends quickly.

You just might have something there. ;)

Ooooh.... didn't realise it was a non motorised bike. Knowing how a bug feels doesn't even begin to describe it. You lucky you came out of both of those alive.
Hope you have a much better year in 2009 :cheers2:

What a bunch of crap :(
My boss did the same crap move to the rest of the shop here - laid them all off for 2 weeks over the holidays, thereby avoiding holiday pay for the union. This was announced while he was vacationing in the Florida Keys, of course.

Wow, you couldn't make that stuff up if you tried. Sorry for your string of bad luck. We are about to kick off a new year and month so cheers to a fresh start in '09.
I got hit on my bike by a driver that blew a stop sign and then fled the scene three years ago, so I sympathize.

"Nomad I got hit on my bike by a driver that blew a stop sign and then fled the scene three years ago, so I sympathize."
Nomad that is exactly what happen to dad the first time. In fact after they hit him they speed up so he couldn't get their plate number. They didn't even stop to check if he was o.k. Not that it matters because a bicyclist has no rights in Jacksonville. It totally destroyed his bike but he was able to walk away from that one. Thank God!!

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to give an update on DogDragon on New Years Eve he discovered a red bump on his back over the course of the following week it developed into a painful rash. His boss was a dick and wouldn't let him off work to go to that doctor, so on his first day off (5 days later) he went to the doctor. The doctor told him he has Shingles and asked why he waited so long to come in. He is on heavy pain killers and antibiotics which are causing him to sleep a lot (hence the fact he hasn't been around). He was told not to go to work until it cleared up by the doctor. He's boss is giving him shit so he might get fired over this.
For those of you who pray please do.

Ok here's what's happening here. My doc gave me the ok after talking to him to
go back to work on the 8th. My boss on the other hand asked what meds I'm on
and I told him. So my boss said the doc said ok, but he (my boss) said no I can't
come back. I'm still doing to much meds and I am a liability so he's keeping me on
a medical hold. So now it's up to him on when I go back.
So if I have to wait till the meds are gone that will be like a month. I'll tell you one
thing getting hit by the minivan didn't hurt this much. I would have never thought
a rash could hurt so much. I found I can take a half Tramadol and be able to deal
with what I have to do (walk and talk), but if I take a whole one I'm out for the count.
So I guess my boss is right to keep me on a medical hold, but staying home is
driving my nuts.
I'm really starting to think someone has a voodoo doll of me and have way too much
fun with it.;D I have to make jokes about this cause there's nothing else I can do.
To give you an idea what this feels like raise your right hand above your head and
than let someone take a full swing with a baseball bat into your ribs and that's about
it, and when you cough it's a whole new feeling of pain.
Well I have to take my meds I'm finding it hard to sit here and type.
But I'll be back that's a threat :)
Shingles is fun! Had it when I was 18 or 19, and it feels like your nerve endings are being stabbed and set on fire.
