Hey guys, I picked up on a post about the e5200 and thought I'd come here to tell everyone about myself.

I'm a 27 year old programmer and repair technician. I work for myself. I have a wife and 7 year old son. I started with computers in 1996. I got real big into security and taught myself networking and Unix at that time. In 1999 I wrote a script to parse Snort IPS logs and translate them to firewall entries. Capn Crunch's company got wind of my idea and hired me on to develop it into an enterprise app based on it. They screwed me so I got into pen-testing. When Kevin Mitnick was released from prison he heard about me from Capn Crunch while they were doing a thing on the discovery channel. He hired me on at Defensive Thinking when he got off parole restrictions. I pentested there with him for a short time. I designed a new Snort based IPS engine shortly thereafter and it got picked up by another company who tied to market it to the DoD. That fell through and I've been coding PHP/MySQL UIs ever since. I recently took overclocking up as a hobby having started my performance tweaking love by recompiling linux trees with gcc tweaks for individual processors. I love Xbox Live.

Came here with massive computer fail problems, and started browsing. I went to college with lynx and bindle, until I transfered to a different college. I'm a computer science major and will be graduating within a few months. Know of any good jobs?!

I enjoy playing video games, primarily RTS, FPS, and RPG. Currently I have recently stoped playing wow (got boring) and been starting to get into TF2. I use to play CS:S a lot, along with the original CS. I played FFXI when it came out for about two years, 68 rdm, then wow for about four until now. RA 2 Yuri's revenge is probably one of the games I've played the most back when it was fairly popular. I also have played a bit of WC III dota / mods for when wow got boring.

Now that i think i'm done with wow, i need a new game... any suggestions? Currently thinking about getting either Dawn of War 2 or the new Company of Heroes new xpac.

If you have never played Company of Heroes before, get it play online. It's a great game, even if this new expansion was sort of a weird experience. There is actually a game type similar to DotA that you might find laughable. :P

If only windows was as easy to reinstall as a Linux distro is, then fixing some of these difficult problems would be best achieved by a reload of the OS.

I've started playing TF2 on the server quite a bit on the weekends so I figured I'd post on here. I've been around Icrontic quite a bit before back when Mortin(RIP) was still with us. Yes, I'm an Aussie but don't hold that against me, we are making some progress over here!
I'm in research in Human Motion/ Human Mechanics and I am what could be be politely referred to as the "mature aged" bracket. I have been married for 37 years and have two sons. My obsession is in learning new things about pretty much anything, got bored once but that was back in the mid sixties and only lasted for a day or so.
I have only just found your site but I'm impressed by what I have read and the good fun attitudes. I have no doubt that I can learn a lot here, I also hope that I can contribute something in return.

Hey everyone! I figure I might as well do an official "introduction". I'm Ryan, or "Bandrik" as my online/gaming handle. I was brought in under UPSLynx's recommendation. We've hung out since 8th grade and have traveled many a SIGGRAPH before. I've played a few IC rounds of TF2, so I feel rather indoctrinated already with the crowd, but I'm just now really getting into the community and the fourms.

A quick bit about me, I'm a graphic designer who recently graduated from Purdue. Geek of all sorts and interests in just about anything and everything. Particularly big on technology, gaming, photography, art, and nature/wildlife. Pretty much a whole slew of things.

What do I want out of Icrontic? Just to be a part of the community. I hear you guys are some of the coolest on the face of the planet - I might as well be a part of this. Save the world, rescue the princess, and have a few good microbrewed beers along with it.

Well Im Nate,

For most of you, (who went to EPIC) know me as the dude with the camcorder, who apparently most of you hid from, while others were very open/Drunk off their ass with me.

I do a mix of online media, been into computers since the early 90's started on a 80286. Know a good mix in virtually every topic.

I play virtually anything though I am truly a noob at most games. FPS I like the most, TF2 HLDM L4D. I play some RTS, CNC3, bit of WCIII but I barely know anything at it. give me a few rounds and I'll catch on if its a decent game. (the mod/map)

Online media I run a website, DigitalHi5 Productions, http://dh5tv.org (http://dh5tv.org/) where I put together a mix of shows and short clips. Ranging from Port7 which was my tech show I did for 15 months back in 2006-2007, and some short skits n shows around the same time period.

I'm currently writing a new scifi series I wanted to have in production already but I gained some writers block so that kinda went to a halt.

Im also working on a local blog for the metro detroit area which EPIC will be highlighted soon on http://metro.dh5tv.org (http://metro.dh5tv.org/) in the near future.
and for all of you ladies from epic, I will be letting prime review the footage before it goes live. Majority of the footage taped will not be online anyways and given to prime.

I have worked with and around computers since 1972. I worked on them and with them in the navy from 72 thru 87. I bought my first computer in 1978 or 1979, it was a TRS-80 with 4kbites of memory. I have upgraded my systems with newer and more robust systems. I am currently using a home built (MSI motherboard X58 Platinum SLI Core i7 920 with 6 Gig). I have both Ubuntu and Win XP, and looking forward to Win 7.
I was raised in Kansas, but currently live in Texas.
