a new one is only $270 ...I payed $299 a few weeks ago for mine.

Ya, there were at least 2 examples recently on these forums where people bought refurb vid cards, both were bad experiences with obvious mod attempts, missing pieces or parts, and if I remember correctly, not even working in one case (or both?). On the upside, I believe both those people got their $ back so the risk is somewhat limited.

I'll echo the answer above that there's nothing wrong with Sapphire, my 9800XT is a Sapphire and does everything it should and then some.

Newegg will take returns on refurb items within 30 days.. So the risk is slim.

(That is if you're buying from there)
