About time! I was wondering if/when this would happen. There are some things that you can't just take away from the public. Polaroid instant film is one of them.
True story. I won a Polaroid camera at my HS's "Project Graduation" post-graduation party for seniors. It was a cool event, but out of all the prizes you could win, the camera was probably the thing I wanted the least. At that point in my life, I'd have been happier with a free oil change coupon.
In college I started as an architecture major. One of the classes I had was a sketching class where we were supposed to sketch certain buildings on campus to learn about perspective and ratios and scale. It was a great class, but I was too busy studying or playing TF2 to bother with sketching buildings. I procrastinated.
As the final part of the first semester drew near, I had 7 buildings to sketch and about 36hours to go before I had to turn in my sketchbook for the final. Worried about having enough time to sketch everything while it was still daylight, I rummaged through the back of my closet and found my Polaroid I'd won. I had a 10-pack of film, loaded it up, and went for a walk. I took photos of all the buildings we were supposed to sketch, went back to my room, and knocked out the project late that evening. I got an A.
Polaroid saved me from bombing a class and won a place in my heart.

It was a great class, but I was too busy studying or playing <s>TF2</s> CS to bother with sketching buildings. I procrastinated.
Fixed.
