E8500 $188
E8400 $165

All E0 stepping. I'd still take an 8400/8500 and overclock it for $100 less...

but you wont see 4.5ghz+ on air with either of those.

That's right. They might be (no sSpec data yet) the same stepping, but this is clearly a much better speed bin to achieve 3.5GHz on the same TDP.
