I've done both JC and Enchanting to max level. If there's one you'd prefer me pick up, let me know and I'll gladly take it. (Note: Enchanting is the only useful one 'til about 65)

Prag: Skinning / Mining

End-game I'll probably drop Skinning for Blacksmithing.

As far as a guild goes, we could benefit greatly from both a JC and an Enchanter as dusty mentioned.

While leveling I'm rocking skinning and herbalism to keep the funds up. I'll likely keep herbalism, and switch to whatever is needed once I'm higher up and have a money cushion.

I started both tailoring and enchanting last night.

I guess we'll be feeding Jimmy for sometime w/ his costly habits :P

Thrax
29 Jan 2009, 10:08pm
He can cap enchanting with tailoring DEs, quest greens and mid-quest drops. He'll be okay. :)

I've never found tailoring to be that costly. Little bit of smart AH moves and its not a problem at all. The enchanting on the other hand :D

Skinning/mining on Pigflipper (hunter) for cash. Also, working on fishing with Pigflipper; useful for pet food, cooking, and money. If anybody needs fish, my bank is full of stacks.

Flixpinger (DK) has no learned professions since I started @ lvl 55 and am low on cash. I will probably go mining/skinning and go run around in the barrens for a while to level both.

Of course we have fun. Anne watches kittens on vacuums while Brian makes bandages and Prag kills things.

I believe I'll be going bs/jc when I stop being so lazy. I don't play with you guys so it doesn't matter all that much now does it : ). If you are interested in min-maxing (best use of profs for stats), that is pretty much the best combo in the game right now, since everything of any significance now can be bought from others.

I'll possibly be taking JC over skinning at some point (definitely if I end up tanking). Apparently there are some mad HP gains to be had from JC these days.

I finally got up to 100 in inscription and have started to be able to make some decent glyphs. If you're not familiar with glyphs because they came out after you stopped playing, they're basically perma-buffs. You get one major and one minor glyph, you can inscribe them at any Lexicon of Power (those floating books in major towns) into your spellbook, and they are interchangeable and tradeable. At level 30 you get to add another major, and they go up from there. It's a neat system.

I've been able to make a few glyphs for some of you (they're specific to class), and all I need now are tons of 2nd-tier herbs to make more (currently I'm on the mageroyal/briarthorn/swiftthistle/stranglekelp inks). so if you're an herbie who has been selling herbs in the AH, kindly consider giving them to me instead so I can keep working on my inscriptions. I'll give you glyphs in return :D

Lucky you, Prime. My alchemy isn't good enough to use tier 2 herbs yet, I'll send you some tomorrow when I get on (if I remember).

Also when you are like Alchemy 175, i need you to make some Shadow Oil. I'll try to buy the recipe in the AH

It's for leatherworking.

Mining & Blacksmithing

Good choice.. hard to keep up with the BS'ing though... I will send you link to the best "cheapest" guide I found for leveling it. From 150 - 250ish is hard and can be expensive unfortunately.

I can suggest selling most everything you mine at first.. just so you can have some good $$

I am not on your server and 3 months behind but have 3 toons all 3 at 80

1 with enchanting 450/mining 450
1 with incription 450/herbing 450
1 with JC 450/alk 450

if you have any question that i can help you with, i can or point you in the right direction for the correct answer.

My 80 dwarf hunter has 450 Mining and 450 Engineering, and by making 4-5 certain items, I get all the gold I need for my alts that are leveling. I may spend 3-4 hours farming ore nodes every week or so, and turn it into profit!

My 80 human paladin had 418 Leatherworking but rarely uses it and about 370 Herbalism, but it's only used for certain things, like making my own health potions when people on the auction house are trying to charge a fortune for potions.

Blacksmith is up to 141
Mining is up to 128
Do we have anyone doing inscriptions for glyphs anymore?
I'd like to get started with my major and minor glyphs.

Cyclonite

Auction House is pretty good for getting glyphs. They're usually not too expensive. And if they are, just go back later.

Hawk
