Its gunna be here soon.

Valve Just released a second batch of premajor update updates. Some small sniper updates and some Natasha work.

The most interesting I think is this:

Stealthed spies are no longer able to pickup the intelligence. They must uncloak first

Any speculation on what awesomeness valve has in store for us with the scout update?

I just hope for another Goldrush style payload map.

I thought it would be cool for the scout to have a shield that was degradable... that would be damaged and break apart. Like 1.5 rockets and it's done. Something to give the scout some more usefulness on goldrush and dustbowl. But not something like what happen in CS, back in the day.

What exactly would the caltrops do? Slow down enemies crossing them? Hurt them? Could they be blown away, shot away? How long do they last? Doesn't seem realistic but would still be kinda cool to see.

Many, many editions of Team Fortress -- all of which predate TF2 by a great margin -- had caltrops. They did indeed slow people down.

This is possible, though I think unlikely. There is a flying shoe graphic in the background of the scout update page. This may indicate something is happening to his shoes.

Upgrade #1: Bat replacement unlockable, The Sandman.

You Scouts are gonna love this highly collectible bat that smacks baseballs at the other team, stunning the living crap outta anybody dumb, slow, drunk, mute or Australian enough to get in the way. The farther the ball flies before ricocheting offa some chucklehead's skull, the longer he's gonna be stunned. And guys who think they're tough because they're invulnerable? It works on them too. Now the bad news: You can't double jump when you're carrying this little beauty. On the other hand, double jumping never put anybody in a coma

A. Hit a guy with the ball to stun him. The farther the ball travels, the longer he’s gonna be out.
B. Now laugh at the guy because he ain’t doin’ nothin for a while but gettin’ beat on.
C. Get in there and take some cheap shots! You deserve it. So does he. Batter SWING!

Unlikely as the demoman, pyro, sniper, etc. all have emblems on their sleeves. This is most likely the Scout's emblem.

No, Energy drink is way of getting past a sentry not dealing with it. Also the slow down won't get you past anything after the sentry.

I'm not sure if I like this one as much as "The Sandman"

I could care less for the weapons but I really like the look of all these maps, esp. Egypt. That looks awesome.

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

New features

* Added The Force-A-Nature, The Sandman, and Bonk!
* Added 35 new Scout achievements
* Added crit boosted on/off sound effects
* Added new sounds for upgraded teleporters
* Added new sound for a fully charged medic dying
* Add bonus points section to scores
o Scouts earn a bonus point for killing Medics who are actively healing a target
* Added several new speech concepts, mostly hooked up to new Scout lines
* Added new "Remember last weapon between lives" option to the Multiplayer Advanced dialog
* Spies can now control which weapon the enemy team sees them holding. Hitting the "last disguise" key while disguised updates the disguise to show the Spy's currently held weapon
* Added several new Arena mode announcer speech events.
* Added "First Blood" to Arena mode
* Removed 2x item respawn times in arena
* Changed backstab handling to fix facestabs
* Spies disguised as enemy team can now see player IDs for enemies


New maps

* Added community maps: cp_egypt, arena_watchtower, and cp_junction
* Updated cp_fastlane with Arttu's new version


Mapmaker requests

* Added new input for forward speed modifier to FuncTrainTrain
* Added TeleportToPathTrack input to func_tracktrain


Bugfixes

* Fixed a bug where players would sometimes gib from non-gib damage kills
* Fixed stat screen showing an entry for a class called "map."
* Fixed item model panels not using team skins


- Fixed obscure bug where spectators were able to carry the flag

I generally approve of the changes made to the spy. The super quick back stab is fantastic!

Other than the scout update it wasn't anything to big. Spy got another buff plus the quicker stab.
