Folder Access lockout

I hope this is in the right forum. I recently had a nasty fight with a virus that I believe was at least started by one called services.exe. I was unable to save many programs including "Folder Access 2.0" from Topdownloads Networks, which I used to keep some folders secure on my D: drive. I did not get a chance to unlock those folders before I was forced to format. Now that I have formatted C: and reinstalled the program, I cannot unlock those folders. Any help would be appreciated. :grumble:

Thanks for the info. I tried the different methods but was unsuccessful. I should let you know that the program, when I had it working would show any user a different icon for the folder and when clicked, it would redirect and display the control panel folder. that way no one would even see the contents or suspect it of being a locked folder. it still does this.

Ah, I see it was an encryption program of some sort. I think you're best off emailing the manufacturer of the software in this case.

I tried to contact the manufacturer of the program and had to create a login to even send them an email. Well, I never got the activation email from registering and when I tried to re-register, I got a message saying that my email address was already taken (yah... by me who didn't get the activation!). Soooo..... Any other programs that will hack this one? I don't know what else to do.

That's my opinion as well. Encryption programs usually leave folders 100% unrecoverable if the computer is formatted prior to unencryption.
