Hello,
Every time I connect to a VPN using the Cisco client, my computer gets horribly, horribly slow. What's wrong? Please tell me.

Thanks In Advance

Do you have the latest version of the VPN Client? Also once you connect to the VPN your network settings acquire the settings from the network your VPN'ing into as far as DNS is concerned. Also in your vpn client settings, modify the profile, go into the transportation tab and make sure you've got Allow Local LAN Access check marked.

Outside of that the VPN client shouldn't really be effecting things on your computer that aren't network related.

Launch Task manager (Ctrl-Alt-Delete) and look at the performance tab. How much ram do you have installed and how much is left available? What operating system are you running and as Kryyst said, what version of the VPN software are you running?

While a VPN can consume a lot of your bandwidth, it doesn't usually take that big of a performance hit unless you're already low on resources.
