View Full Version : NDAS - rubbish?!

I was looking for a USB caddy for a HDD in a very old archive PC, saw that for an extra £10 I could get one with a cat5 plug in it - so I opted for that.

It's arrived and the drive can be seen fine when connected via USB.

when I connect via cat5 (cat5 alone, not cat5 and usb that is) the PC cannot see it - I've installed the NDAS software and tried to register the device - but the write code doesn't seem to be written on it! - just the device id!

I tried something called ndasscan.exe via cmd prompt, however, it crashed as the DLL I have is different to the one used in the developent of the little scanning app.

So, anyone used this NDAS standard and can you advise? - Right now I't thinking it's gonna be easier to just connect it to a PC via USB and share from that, but that's a bit of a crappy solution really...
