annoying pop-up

hardly a hardware issure i know, but none the less annoying. When visiting some sites i get a pop-up,

'security warning, the cuurent webpage is trying to open a page on your trusted sites list,do you want to allow this?'

Firstly, if it's on my trusted sites list (whatever that is, as i don't remember soughting one out) why is it asking for permission? secondly how do i turn it off? :thumbsdow

XP, ie7, it happens on ebay, i think it has something to do with their yahoo adverts, i've opted out of yahoo adverts, but still get them!
