upgrade from software Mirror to hardware raid 5

hi,

greetings!!

we are on the process of upgrading our current server from mirror - raid 1 to raid 5.

we had already broke the mirror and now performing a backup, yet prior to breaking the mirror, backup was also performed.

our dilemma is, will data from the mirror setup be okay to transfer to raid 5? i believe it will, yet please help and suggest ....

Sure; if you have the data off the drives, of course you can put it back onto a new RAID... I'm not sure if that's all you're asking?

yeah it's a backed up image. You create your new raid 5 and recover the backup onto it. The backup doesn't really care if it's raid 0, 1 or 5.
