Does anyone know how I can set my WoW to play on a private server hosted by myself? How do you create the server?

To my knowledge, it is not possible, but I have only been in WoW for about 3 months.

You have to connect to a realm or PTR to play.

It is indeed against Blizzard's ToS. It can be done, but is clunky, slow and a general piece of scheisse. There is a reason Blizzard takes their servers down every Tuesday for several hours, it takes a lot of time to properly maintain a realm server.

Summary: Stay away from private servers, and stay away from setting one up yourself. Bad news bears on many fronts.
