Anyone know how to take the copyright off of music? Im trying to take a wmv copyrighted file and convert it to mp3.
Is there some program that does this?
any suggestions?

I didnt know it was illegal even though I bought it?? How can that be possible. Its my music file. I just want to change it to mp3. Its really illegal?

Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, I believe it is illegal to tamper with or remove the copy protection from any form of media.

Its my music file.

Sadly it isn't your music file. The whole point of copyright is that you do not own music. Even if you buy a CD from the shop you own the disk but not the music contained on the disk. When you buy a CD or or MP3 you buy the right to hold a copy of the disk in accordance with the copyright t&cs and you buy the right to listen to it.

It is technically illegal to even play this music in a public place unless you have the appropriate licences.
