hello forum. i just built a pc (which at this point does not boot up). i received a suggestion that said maybe i need to update/flash the motherboard bios. at this time there is no software on the system. could someone kindly explain how to update the motherboard's bios. i need very basic step-by-step instructions because i have never undertaken this chore. thanks for the forum's assistance.

1st. We need to know about the system.. what motherboard, CPU, memory, vid card, etc.
2nd. When you say it does not boot up, you never get anything on the screen?

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2 GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Pro
motherboard: BIOSTAR TForce TA790GX A3+ AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
memory: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
video card: none
I can get to the bios and I also get a very annoying memory test screen. The weird think about the mem test screen is that it says the system has a certain CPU, but it does not. So yes, some stuff does come up on the monitor, but as I mentioned, the pc never gets to the boot up stage. I will try and supply additional info for the forum if requested. Thanks again.
