Okay, here is the down and dirty for the TF2 fantasy game.

Sign up with Cannon Fodder or doc IF you want to play.

Real Simple,

1. as a reply to this post pick Any 5 players in the TF2 tournament at EPIC. These 5 players will represent your team.

2. Play in the tournament.

I will have someone screen shot the scores from the matches, after the tourny, i will tally up the scores and determine the winner.

if any prizes to be determined, up to prime and them guys.

This is test drive, if lots of interest i'll refine the rules and we can run it again next year or something.

The easy way to fix the system would be to only take everyone's top x scores where x is the lowest number of matches played by a team..... that or instead of doing a sum of people's scores, take their average.

Well... on any fantasy team you run the risk of your player being injured, overtime, playoffs, etc. It's one of the risks of picking the person. In my opinion,Teams should be first then pick you fantasy team.

If not, average the scores by the number of games played.

I like the idea of averaging points by number of the games played, and q is right, there is always a chance that your team will just not preform. a dropped player or more games based on the tourny set up, etc. etc.

I think, since I totaled the score, that any more complications requires a different records keeper! Trying to guess the people that will play the most games adds a nice challenge to the game, imo.

However, like Q says, we need to know which teams people are on before we pick teams. Next year, I vote we know our TF2 teams beforehand. Perhaps decide on the forums so we can practice even? Get a good idea of who performs well???

as to an MVP, I think I'll wait til next year to try an official MVP. with such a crude scoring method, its had to do anything other then points and that doesn't necisarly denote MVP

If we used HLxstats, I think we can do something on the order of a weighted by class point system.

For example...

Heavy/Medic/Sniper = 1:1
Scout/Engy/spy = 1.25:1
Demo/Soldier/pyro = 1.1:1

I might look at some people who played known classes and see what factors makes it a little more... interesting.

Heh, CrazyJoe was using my laptop. Sure, it was 15" - but it also randomly minimized the game a couple times, the headphone jack only worked on the left channel, and my only spare mouse was a ball mouse.
