Mix (equal parts) until it frothes, then pour.

Of Icrontic LAN/Expo fame.

Another ICHQ favorite.

Guaranteed-awesome jello shots:

To make Jello (small box), you heat 1 cup water to dissolve it, then add 1 cup of cold water before putting it in the fridge.

For the alcoholic version, substitute the 1 cup of cold water with 1/2 cup flavored vodka and 1/2 cup any schnapps or triple sec. Mix and match flavors using common sense and it'll come out great every time.

Also, recommend doing it in ice cube trays for 2 reasons: First, you can fit WAY more in the fridge in less space. Second, it's more fun to pass out the spoons and pass trays around the room. It turns it into a group event rather than something people grab out of the fridge like a drink. :)

Some suggested flavors to mix-and-match:

Jello

cherry
orange
strawberry
strawberry banana
mixed berry
mixed fruit

Vodka

Smirnoff Rasberry (my standard selection)
Smirnoff Cranberry
Smirnoff Orange
Smirnoff (regular)

Schnapps, etc

Blue Hawaiian (or any tropical)
peach schnapps
Blackhaus (blackberry) (my favorite)
Triple sec

i'm an old lady, i love Manhattans... i realize they're not for everyone, but here's how i prefer mine, which is a slight deviation over the classic recipe:

4 parts bourbon or rye whiskey
(i like Knob Creek, Bookers, Pikesville Rye for the OG Balmer flavor, or Old Potrero by Anchor Steam if i wasn't poor)
1 part Sweet Vermouth
3 dashes bitters
(i prefer blood orange bitters)
2 cherries for garnish

you're supposed to either shake and serve in a martini-type cocktail glass, or stir with ice, i usually make mine on the rocks because i'm clumsy and will spill out of those stupid tall glasses. i like crushed ice for mouth feel.

-lemon peel for garnish

Awesome topic!

Guaranteed-awesome jello shots:

Oh Lord, don't let Jokke see! ;D

Next time I'm at ICHQ, I'd like to try a Tues night special.

(Also, not sure if you want to use this thread for just recipes, or discussion plus recipes. If just mixes, feel free to remove this comment)

Hot Toddy:
-cup of hot brewed tea (I like using black teas, namely Darjeeling)
-1 shot of rum (Sailor Jerry does it for me)
-a dash of honey
-Slice of lemon

An excellent nightcap, this one will put you right to sleep.

Tom Collins: (an expansion of one of my favorites, the Gin and Tonic. Luv gin.)
-2 ounces of gin
-1 ounce lemon juice or sours
-Club soda

usually served in a highball, can be garnished with a cherry. Don't listen to the haters, it's a classic, and classy drink.

Kamikaze:
(3 equal parts of each ingredient, mixed to any size)
1 ounce Vodka
1 ounce Triple Sec
1 ounce Lime Juice

makes for a really tasty shot, especially if served chilled. Just be careful with the intake

A few of my favorites for now

The trick to Kamikazes is to make them as cold as possible. Vodka in the freezer, shake over ice. Critical. Very, very good.

Augh... you're like that bartender I had a few months ago Lincoln... worst kamikaze's I've ever had. Lynx's version is how I've seen it made everywhere else. Although the cold as possible definitely applies.

EDIT: My post has been made LOL obsolete... For clarification, I had a bartender make kamikazes with just vodka and lime... no triple sec... and they overcharged for them. Lame night.

Yeah, I deleted where I said I thought it was just vodka and lime. I have no idea why I thought that... everything I read online seems to disagree now.

Lynx, we may be beverage twins... i heart all your recipes!

i have always made my Hot Toddys with scotch. if you use a strong black tea, or even a smoked tea like lapsang souchong, it stands up to scotch really well. i also usually do a little more than a teaspoon of honey, and add more honey/lemon if i'm drinking it for a cold or sore throat.

:D

I always do spiced rum simply because I always have it. I really need to invest in a good bottle of scotch, and when I do so, I'll certainly give that a shot.

And, consequently, probably sleep like a baby afterwards.

I have hot toddys with whiskey. I think it may be the only liquor-based drink I actually care for, but I've never ordered it.

Inspired by this thread, I made hot toddys last night for us; used a Norwegian brand of Cognac.

I add spices to mine; normally I throw some cloves in the pot and put a cinnamon stick in each mug. I didn't have cloves or cinnamon sticks so I used 5 bags of darjeeling tea and 2 bags of a spiced apple flavored tea in the pot.

good amount of honey, and a dash of lemon. Dey was goood

I used to call these white russians until I was informed that they are not white russians:

-your favorite unflavored vodka
-Kahlua Especial
-plain soy milk, I prefer Silk

pour in equal parts over ice. stir once around with finger. lick finger. enjoy.

What we had alot of nights in the Army:

Rattlesnake recipe
1 part Bailey's® Irish cream
1 part Kahlua® coffee liqueur
1 part creme de cacao

Carefully layer into a shot glass, test tube or tumbler.

But I gotta admit, we substituted either the Bailey's or Kahlua with Vodka most times ;)

Have about 8 of those with Vodka, and all of sudden the room goin' spinning, hence the Rattlesnake name

Jello-shot twist.

Idea by me (Jokke)

1 pack of chocolate pudding
Milk
Chocolate/espresso vodka

Make the pudding as per instructed on the package, but replace half of the milk with vodka.

Awesome.

As an addendum:

It was actually 1.25 cup milk and .75 cup vodka,
We used instant pudding
Magic added a bunch of corn starch and heated it in a saucepan to get it to thicken
He also added a little bit more of vodka to replace what cooked off

You know what's even better? All of the above + vodka. No need to substitute :)

I think I've use different proportions, but it's all a matter of taste. You can use milk or ice to thin it out if desired.
