So lately there's been a bit of a problem where I'm renting (basement of a house) with a few earwigs getting in through cracks in the window framework... last night I had a coffee and didn't quite finish it all, left some in the bottom of the mug... this morning when I got up, I found a dead earwig in it. Wonderful...

Ok, so check this out. My senior year in college, Grimnoc and one of our other buddies had a house off campus. A few guys in the house were smokers (I think Grimnoc was the only non).

The house slowly degraded into a disgusting mess, as the smokers would use any nearby object for an ashtry.

One day, near graduation, I grabbed a glass out of the cabinet and filled with water, and began to slame it down, bottoms up. When I got to the bottom, I noticed the entire bottom was caked with cigarette ash.

I can think of few times when I was more disgusted by something.

But then again, at least you didn't have to share your room with a cigarette factory.

It's a fun story to tell, but I'm sure I have cancer now, thanks a lot.

I used to live in a house that was very poorly insulated and had cracks all over the place. In the winter we use to get slugs coming in the house. One time I put my foot in my shoe and squished one. Another time i trod on one in the hallway.

The worst was when one got in the washing basket and all the clean clothes were covered in slug trails! it looked like I had been shooting porno!

Yeah, my bedroom door (in the place mentioned by Lynx) when shut would still let in a noticable stream of sunlight due to it hanging not even close to square within it's frame. During the winter, cold wind would literally whistle through the crevice between the door and the frame. Calling it a crevice doesn't even do it justice. It was more like a rip in the space-time continuum.
