I've got my new 2600+ in today. After running it stock for a little while, I set it to 2.3GHz (11.5x200 - it IS locked) and I had to run it up to 1.95 VCore (in BIOS - it really ends up being between 1.90 and 1.92 when I look in Hardware Doctor) to get it to run stable at 2.3...
It's running at 49C full load, at its hottest. I've got an SLK-900A with a 64CFM Enermax 92MM fan on it.
Is this OK, or should I clock down, or heaven forbid even put a vacuum cleaner fan on the HS?

As long as it's not running 50c or above I wouldn't worry about it too much myself.
That's a pretty decent temp for that much Vcore.

It ran fine at 1.92, but gromacs were terminating early. It's folding stable at this VCore/Temp, so I guess you guys are right and I'll stick with the 2.3 GHz. :fold:
Thanks!

Those temps should be fine. As long as it doesn't go above 50 or so then leave it like it is.

Looks like it was choking on WU's all day long while I was at work. This one's not a very good OC'er - I'm going to put it in my girlfriend's rig and get me a 2400+ XP-M Barton to test out in the Primary. I'm going to put that nice XP2100+ that did 2.3 GHz into my Secondary...
