2009.08.29 "Neon" Discussion

Yeah I hear ya. So what I liked about the bug was it was about as natural neon as they come. So I didnt touch the colors in post at all. I thought about making it really saturated, which still may have kept the concrete nice and grey and had some contrast, but I thought the bug was pretty effing brightly colored compared to anything I had ever seen with my own eyes in the natural world. I mean its got that green color, then pink on top, and some sort of blue needle on the back that I I think it basically shoots out at enemies like a nerf dart with poison. (I have no clue, but I liked to think it would have eaten me.

Also its the size of my index finger and was just hanging out outside the bagel shop. I saw it and started to take a pic and in no time about 7 people were around me like HOLY CRAP and whipping out their cameras. Some kids really wanted to poke it and definitely were bug experts telling me that the blue thing was probably how it killed bad guys :)

hehe but thinking about it more... living in los alamos, if I bring the radiation into the visible spectrum, this bug* probably DOES look more like this:
