Yeah, I don't even consider a beard until around Christmas. Last year, Thanksgiving day was 92F on the beach, so about 95F here in town. Christmas was in the upper 80s.

Yeah, we get two months of cold: mid-upper 50's daytime, upper 20-upper 30's at night with swings colder and warmer, but after 8+ months of 85-105 during the day and 75-90 at night, it feels a lot colder than it really is (humidity and constant wind help that as well).

Though it doesn't really bother me, it does get old hearing the 'hey amish beard!' comment. So I'm thinking about growing the 'stache. But knowing that I can't do the goatee thing and connect the two, should I go for the 'stache and beard that don't connect?

That was my problem, too. I can't grow a decent-looking beard because of it. The most I can do is let it grow to a few days length (which suits my laziness just fine) before it starts becoming obvious that my face just doesn't have the power.

One time I let it go for a couple months, though. I presented at a conference like this. I figured if it didn't go well, I'd shave, and they'd never recognize me :D.

Last Shave 09/30/09: 5 weeks no shave. The goat is lookin good but my cheeks take forever to look good. I'll have to at least clean it up for a trade show I have to work in about a week.

As for me I dropped back to a trimmed look two weeks ago.
Then I got the flu, then pneumonia, 7 days in bed, and 10 days out of work = no shave for me. I'm back about where i last posted and will continue.

I did, for the first time ever, not get carded at a liquor store with the beard. So I guess it worked?
