OK, I've tried the link twice, It opens another window then the PC reboots, does a scan, offers to send a report to Microsoft because it has recovered from a serious error. Is that it or have I developed a fault?

Try some other internet streaming media. If it happens consistantly, you may need to reinstall MediaPlayer.
