View Full Version : WOW... Felt the baby!!!
OK, go ahead and make fun of me but... I just felt my baby kick. My wife has been able to feel movement for the past few weeks but it has been to soft for me to feel... UNTIL NOW. Cool... I'm a happy dad!!!
Nuff said.

You just wait until she gets so, um, large that she won't feel it kicking, but you will... no offense, I'm just speaking from personal experience! ;)
Congrats again, QCH!
There's a joke here about "I hope you didn't dent her forehead" but that would be tasteless so I won't mention it...uhhh.
Yes, it's a very thrilling moment. I still remember the first time I felt our oldest, who is now 15, kick. Congratulations.

Curious thing, Mom let the older boys feel kicks, I grew up with it as I have 4 younger brothers, BUT, the first one of YOURS is real special. VERY COOL! Good sign baby is exploring himself or herself, brain is talking to muscles.
Mom's rationale was to bond the older ones to newer ones before they were even born, we had no sisters to take care of them, so all us older ones got to help and babysit younger ones from infancy up-- including diaper changing, stuck myslef with more pins on cloth diapers doing babysitting thna any ohter brother-- this was pre-disposables days. After we asked about the birds and the bees, mom started letting us feel the next younger ones kicking through her dress. Funny, it worked. The two still in MI look after each other from across the state. Chris and I, down in Florida, keep in close touch. Mark who was second eldest talks to ALL of us. Mark, Chris, Steve and Paul get together in MI in fall to hunt-- Paul, the youngest, is 30-something. Bonding worked, I would say-- and we all knew from age 7 or so, that babies really kicked before being born. The details of how this wonderful new brohter\son\etc came to start growing, we learned on our own and in school (and out of school), Dad was a prude who liked doing it but not talking about it.
John.
An hour and a half... and all you guys stop in an said hi. Touched, yep, I'm touched. Thanks.

Before you know you'll be sending her/him off to college! That tacky old saying, "They grow up so fast", is true.
Congratulations. Absorb all of the joy you can. :thumbup

Congrats QCH I know you are one happy dad. It's always a special thing to be apart of, like I was before my nephew was born.
