Carpet cleaning...

I hadn't wet cleaned the carpet since I moved in almost a year ago, and well, It was lookin pretty ratty. So I bought this puppy http://www.planetfortress.com/tfa/stuff/spot_scrubber.jpg
expressly to do the job, it's Dirt Devil Spot Scrubber. Not meant to do entire carpets but the area isn't more than 15 by 12 feet. Took me 2+ hours of thorough checkerboard scrubbing and now the carpet looks great (Well, better than it did..) This lil thing is great, I'm gonna post a notice for the neighbours.. see if I can make some money back. Now, time to kick back and wait for things to dry... :cheers:

Gnome, don't use the Solution Reservoir. You'll get carpel tunnel in your thumb from pressing the spray button 1000000 times. I just mixed the soap solution in a spray bottle and spritzed the carpet.

it depends on what kind of carpet you have, berbur is made nearly entirely of plastic, not there isnt a whole lot of things that will stick to it, but u need a carpet solution that contains oil because oil is used to make the plastic that the berbur is made of, we used to use a chemical called Oilfen, i doubt any joe shmoe could buy it but that stuff works fantastic, for regular "shag" like carpet, really hot water works pretty good, im talking like 250 degree water and any type of degreaser for tough stains
