Well...in a few minutes I'm yanking my board and taking it back to be rma'd.
I won't have it back for at least 10 working days if not longer so I won't be around until it gets back.
I'm sorry but my production is going to tank for the time being...you have no idea hone much that bothers me but I'll be back ASAP and I'll be bothering the heck out of everyone and trying to get my lost positions back (830+ points a week outta 1 pc baby) so until I get back, have fun guys. :hiding: Is he gone? :celebrate

Well, it's officially on it's way so it's just a waiting game now.
I'm at the local library (having no comp. is the pits!!) and the board didn't get shipped because Monday was a holiday :( so it went out yesterday.
I've been trying to convince the shop here to get it cross shipped but they won't do it...lousy slackers.
At least having the extra time has allowed me to do some stuff I needed to do such as cut out the stock stamped grills, add front led fans as well as bleeding every last bit of air out of my watercooling system.
if you can't guess, I'm bored out of my ever-loving teeny-tiny.

It's having issues with keeping the cas latencies that you set. i.e. , you set it to 3-4-4-8 and at 5-4 divider it runs 2.5-4-4-8.
Not good.
Ever-loving is a phrase that anyone familiar with the Fantastic Four would recognize as one of Ben Grimm's favorite sayings and teeny-tiny is from the book Starship Troopers by Harry Harrison I believe.
Thanks for the support guys, using the library computers is madening.

Most RAM doesn't like CAS 3 unless it is really old PCXXX RAM. 2.5 is pretty much the max for DDR RAM.

Not true. My Kingston HyperX runs 8/4/4/3. Plenty of ram marketed for p4's, ie xms pc3700, reaches cas3 easy. In fact Croc_ has some mushkin bh5 that does 8/4/4/3 as well.

You are aware that CAS3 is the worst possible timing RAM can actually use, aren't you?

EDIT: AAAAAAAhhh, P4 timings. Ignore my post, it's all Intelified.

My XMS Twin-X is rated for 3-4-4-8 at anything above 200 (400mhz) so it dropping down to the tighter 2.5-4-4-8 causes memory errors out the wazoo when I get the ram above 205 (410mhz) and thanks to the board doing its divider boogie it's really limiting my OC's.
The really bad news is that the Ram Guy from Corsair has run a few tests on their board they use for compatability testing and it does it as well so it's a problem that's endemic to this line of boards.
The good news is that he's going to see if he can get Chaintech to make a bios that cures the problem.
Thanks guys, I'll keep you abreast of what I find out.

Sacrilege! I can't place the quote, but Starship Troopers was written by Robert A. Heinlein.

Professor Bernardo de la Paz ought to know. :skeptic:

Who? :p

Who? :p
Bernardo de la Paz (http://pw1.netcom.com/~mecowan/hc/D_HC.htm)

Political exile in Luna City who made a living as a teacher, called Professor or Prof by nearly everyone. He was one of the Revolution's leaders; his party name was Bill. Besides being the primary tactician for the Revolution, he visited Earth with Manuel Garcia O'Kelly to negotiate with the Federation's Grand Assembly (unknown to Mannie, he planned the trip to be a failure, to make the Lunarites more willing to fight and less willing to make concessions). He was named Prime Minister and Secretary of State for Free Luna. He died of a heart attack shortly after the final battle ended.
(The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress)

Also, one of the most well-liked and respected members of the best tech site on the web. :hiding: :p

My bad, Harrison wrote the "Bill the galactic hero" series of books.
Well, I got a call today and the board is on it's way and the tech offered me a tracking number but I told him it'd do me little good because every time I try to fire up my pc nothing much happens.
I might just trade the Chaintech for an Abit IS-7 when the replacement board gets here but that's up in the air as of now, the upside is that I might have my pc up and running thursday night at the latest.
Have fun guys...I'm off to go watch TV.

I got the IS7 today (yesterday as it's currently 3:00a.m. but I've been up all night) and guess what...now I'm getting memory errors out the wazoo at 233fsb...I can't seem to win.
The errors are with the ram at 2.8v at stock timings of 3-4-4-8 at 1-1 so it looks like I may just have to RMA the ram now (yet again) so unless I can get a pair of loaner sticks my PC will be down yet again. :banghead:
