Anybody here know of a good prog to make business cards? I used to use Corel Graphics Pack. But ever since I put XP on my pc, I can't use it. Just comes up not compatible with xp. Really PO's me too. That prog was not cheap. 6 cd's. Just when I got used to using it too. Hehe.

Are you sure you can't run the program in compatibility mode? Right click on the executable file itself, and click properties, and select Windows 98 compatibility.

Can't even get it to load the program prime. I install it and it creates a file but it's empty. Even tried basic install instead of full install and same thing. Really cranks me! Prog cost $225 a few yrs ago. Not sure of date I got it. Tried exploring install cd and right click on exe and run compatible for win 98-ME too. Bummer. :( So, Thats why I'm looking for a new prog to do business cards. Thnx for the thought though.

I just use MSWord to make my bussiness cards... But that's cause I like my cards to be very simplistic.

What about MS publisher? It does everthing, graphics, text, borders etc. how complicated does it need to be?

I'm looking to do professional looking bus. cards. I put a graphic in and then do my logo with it. Design the text, boarders, etc. I've done business cards for quite a few people that have seen my cards, and asked me to do theirs. The cards are going to be business-personal combined. MS Publisher. Hhmmm, I'll look into that one too. Usually, You can get demo's of proggys to try out, so thats kind of what I'm looking to do until I find one I like. Thnx guys. :)

Just a heads up though, in most industries the trend is presently swinging back to simplistic. It's a pendulumic trend, just like every other trend in bussiness aesthetics. Granted, it hasen't hit every field yet, but right now, in my industry (television), people laugh at others when they see cards with more than just the basics in black and white... Of course it could also be geographic. It's very likely different on the other side of the country...

You can put as much graphics as you want on your card in Word, as long as you edit the graphics elsewhere and paste them in - plus Word has standard layouts for printable business card sheets already built in. I don't really have the $$$ to buy a dedicated program for it, so I use Word.
