Well, I finally got around to ordering two of these adapters:

When they get here, I should be able to get my dual 2500s running at something resembling a reasonable speed (like 2.25-2.3GHz :D), so we'll see how it goes. I just wish there was someplace local that carried them... I hate waiting for packages. I want my stuff NOW, damnit. :D

A review on this item would be an excellent follow up to MediaMan's "Locked out." If only you had a newer 2500+ / 2600+.

Don't need newer 2500s. My 1700 JIUHB/DUT3C and my 1800 JIUHB/DLT3C are both in the newer package. :D

They won't work on the new locked procs though. They only work on the older series of procs that can also be multi changed by other methods.

Geeky, why didn't you try the wire in the socket trick to change the multi's on those Bartons in the K7D? $30 a pop is a little steep for me.

Well, besides not giving it that much thought, I just got finished L12 modding my NF7-S. Getting that stoopid wire in there was hell.

Yeah, I did the wire in the socket trick on my P3S rig to up the default vcore and getting those little wires in the socket right is nerve-wracking. I needed to do that with the P3S for more reliable startups while highly overclocked.

I didn't know it could be done with the P3. Got a link to a guide or something? I've got a Pro266TD-LR with dual P3-1GHz CPUs (1 in it now, the other will be here tomorrow) that I'd like to <strike>victimize</strike> try it on.
