View Full Version : NF7-S FSB speed at POST screen.
My NF7-S i reporting odd FSB speeds at POST.
The FSB is set at 225 Mhz.
But at the post screen it is reporting 447-449, very odd.
When I boot into Windows, Sandra (or any other tool) is reporting 225/450 Mhz.
I am using bios 18, anyone else had a similar eexperience?
It is probably nothing, but it is annoying me. :)

my post screen reports the wrong fsb as well as mhz as well ...no matter what bios I use. If I set bios @ 221 x 11 it will report as 220 @ 2420mhz ...yes wcpuid reports 221 @ 2431mhz so ...seems like we're getting the same thing here.

It posts 2 under on my board.
The correct frequency is reported inside of Windows.

Mine does the same. 210 reports as 418 DDR speed.
Allright, mine is also reporting 2 under.
It isn't fluctuating like I said earlier.
Hmm another Abit specialty, maybe?
Good to know that I am not alone with this umm... "feature" :)
EDIT: I believe the speed was correct when I was running at 200 Mhz FSB.
Maybe the "error" only occurs at speeds higher than 200 Mhz FSB?

200 Reports as 400 for me. Its what I am running at now.

I have found this to be only on FSB's above 200 (400).
As mentioned, it is reported correctly in Windows by any and all utilities so there is nothing to worry about.

Hey guys,
Does it make any performance difference if the processor is shown as "unknown" but it shows it at 2167 Mhz? Would it be any better to have the processor "recognized"? I'm using one of my Bartons that I attempted to modify for MP but couldn't get to work. Didn't clean it or anything, just slammed it in my new NF7-S and at first boot, OC'd it and left it there.
Thanks, all you NF7 Gurus out there!

No, it won't make any performance difference if it is shown as unknown, just annoying(to me at least).

aha ...I set bios fsb to 222 and it posts 444! 221 reports 440 and 223 reports 444.
