View Full Version : newbie question
I have a completed download. I now have 2 folders, labeled cd1 and cd2. They're full of files with extensions I have never seen and each includes one rar file and an sfv file. How do I play the movie?

The rar file is a format similar to a .zip file and it needs to be unpacked. Download winrar to do this. The .sfv file checks the .rar files for integrity to make sure they are all there.

Well from what I understand, you just gotta extract the rar and it'll do the rest of the files.

how is this not in compliance with the rules of the forum? unless you have changed it from the original....... saying completed download does not automatically imply what type of file it is.

I don't think we should be presuming guilt. I didn't think that the RIAA method was in place.
robby, the files must have a sequential number to them in the extension. Find the first one and winrar will do the rest (or prompt you for the second one). You should be able to open the .sfv file in notepad and you should see a list.
The resulting file should be in your desired format. If not, please be careful in telling us what you're playing with.

It was edited.

oh, then pardon my earlier comments, it looks kind of unneccessarily threatening not knowing that it was originally edited.
