I would like to know how these things are generated?

And if they aren't random, what was the inspiration for the ads I see on the forums frontpage, see attached. Is there some underlying meaning to these particular ads?

Ahh, they try to tailor to what the interests of the members are, then put the right ads in. That's what I thought, but with the whole relationship-geek myth, I thought that maybe it was a joke portrayed by someone.

opera uses the same system of google sponsored ads if you dont have the pro version, they're very un-intrusive
