It's not a question of rooting. Cytrix is one of our own Icrontian friends. It's a question of who Krazybaloo is.

4 Jun 2003, 08:19pm
Wow, that was quite a jump in price at the end! Tex and co must've put in a bid of $2,200 or so, but krazybaloo's was still higher...

Well, it looks like Tex's Snipe software tried to outbid Baloo, but it didnt work -

krazybaloo( 23) $2,225.77 Jun-04-03 12:15:18 PDT
just_tex666( 25) $2,200.77 Jun-04-03 12:16:57 PDT
krazybaloo( 23) $1,800.00 Jun-04-03 06:15:16 PDT

I thought Baloo was Citrix, but that wouldnt make any sence.

See, see!! IRC is good for something :D

Enverex
4 Jun 2003, 08:34pm
A bidding service hosted at www.auctionstealer.com was where I placed a bid to be sniped days ago for citrix. There friggin site has been DOWN FOR THREE DAYS and is STILL DOWN NOW so there was no way to count on the bid or CANCEL THE BID or anything.

We assumed the site was down and had to make backup arrangements.

****ing SOB's.

Tex

hahaha..... cough...

Sorry, I just hate people who snipe regardless of who they are, especially when they don't even do it themselves.

NS

Necropolis
4 Jun 2003, 08:35pm
That is more complicated, as we thought Tex was bidding for Citrix.

aZnWanksta
4 Jun 2003, 08:37pm
Yes, as in why the hell tex and citrix were bidding against each other... oh wait, I see the light!! The snipe program couldn't be canceled, therefore, Tex and citrix ended up bidding against each other. wow... sux to lose 700 bucks like that...

primesuspect
4 Jun 2003, 08:38pm
I guess they got bit in the ass by trying to use auctionstealer.com... They were sniping against each other before they were "in" together and the thing shot up over $1000 in 5 seconds. Mortin is one lucky dude. He just got $2225.77 for having his site hacked.

Clutch
4 Jun 2003, 08:38pm
Blackhawk is right, I just didn't want to be the one to spill the beans for anyone, got to love insider news eh? So don't worry, icrontic.com is not going to become some pr0n site or anything.

Necropolis
4 Jun 2003, 08:40pm
Thank god for that. That would have been a shame.

Enverex
4 Jun 2003, 08:42pm
Guessing: Tex was bidding for Citrix, then They thought it would just be easier for Citrix to just bid for it himself.

But then at the end as Tex wasnt the highest bidder the Snipe site kicked in.

NS

aZnWanksta
4 Jun 2003, 08:44pm
Yes, I think that's it, or they were both sniping...

Tex is just_tex666, Citrix is krazybaloo. They had to know that it was each other. Why didn't Tex just not bid? They knew that auctionstealer.com was active.

If it were me....I'd formally complain to AuctionStealer.com to refund their bid prices (the difference).

I'm very afraid to phone Tex now.

Honestly... he got nothing compared to what he could have gotten if he would have ran his site worth a damn... But he didn't and he won't.

I think Mortin is a good guy... but he threw away something that could have been much larger in the future if more effort would have been put in on his part. Meh... either way.

Why did an ex Icrontian buy Icrontic.com if they knew this site was going to happen? Is this a case of the stock splitting or is it going to be a family feud? Is this an opinion or are you from the new Icrontic? If it's an opinion, anyone else care to chime in? If you are from the new Icrontic, can you tell me if there will be a difference to this site?

I am only curious.

Keebler
5 Jun 2003, 06:05am
It's complicated and simple, touchy and yet not... all at the same time :)

The Icrontic staff decided to start a new site under their own ownership. Icrontic was bid on by them to be used as a redirect to here.

Citrixmeta and Tex have a different vision for Icrontic than what we had there and have decided to start their own idea of what Icrontic should become. They also may not have wanted to see Icrontic reduced to a redirect perhaps.

Aranyic is currently busting his arse writing code for the new Icrontic.

MERRICK
5 Jun 2003, 06:21am
Thanks for the insight.

Remember I have been away from Icrontic for about 18 months before I came back for the last 2.

To me it looks more touchy than complicated. And more simple than touchy.

I have a better idea now.

For some reason I'm one of those dorks who thinks that all lowercase is cool. Like, somehow it's trendy and unique.

for example, the name of my company:

sarcnet industries, inc.

I never capitalize it. I don't know why. Maybe I have an aversion to caps because back in my BBS days it was far more COMMON TO SEE PEOPLE TYPING IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. I GUESS SOME 8-BIT COMPUTERS DIDN'T EVEN SUPPORT LOWERCASE LETTERS, SO IN MY FORMATIVE YEARS I LEARNED TO GET SICK AT THE SIGHT OF CAPITAL LETTERS.

AT LEAST THIS FONT LOOKS BETTER IN ALL CAPS THAN THE OLD COMPUTER FONTS USED TO.

THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION, NIGHTSHADE, I'LL BE SURE TO CONSIDER IT.
