I was playing a game that disabled "sticky keys", thought it was no big deal, but now my browser acts all crazy. I have looked for the menu that enables/disables them but can't find it. Any one know where it is?

Can you go back in the game and look for a way to re-enable them? (Maybe in the game's options menu?)

iirc, the shortcut for enabling sticky keys is hitting shift 5 times.

I tried that, but then remembered that the original message I got was something about "hitting shift key 5 times enables sticky keys......" So I made a hasty mistake and just disabled them. That way hitting the shift key 5 times would do nothing including not bringing up the message, which contained a link to the location of the menu. Oh well, restoring the defaults on IE has proven effective.

Since it is browser and not game now, look in accessibility things in Accessories part of Start Menu.

You can also make keys act stickier in some ways by playing with keybvoard drivers, depending on keyboard and driver you have running. If you have aborwser that seem to be malfing while entering messages, gettiing too many of one letter too fast, then you might be able to fix by going into device manager and double-clciking the keyboard icon under keyboard (click plus by keyboard to see what to double-click), ask if you need to know how to find device manager, but tell us what Windows you have also, please.

That info and knowing need and what Windows need is for will keep me from writing a book about the diferent ways to get into device manager for different versions of Windows, which would lack immediate relevance but might help someone else reading the thread later-- I get yelled at for that... :D BUT, threads get more interesting if I DO that.... :D

Control Panel - accessibility - uncheck the box
Then, settings (next to sticky keys) - uncheck use shortcut

thanks! How would I lock out the keys to my keyboard so my son (14 mos) doesn't mess anything up when he bangs on the keys?

windows key+L?
I tried that but it takes me to the log in screen. He pressed a combo on night that brought up a screen while in session that locked the keys and needed a pass to get back in ...that's the function I'm looking for. It's the same thing they use at shows when they don't want someone messing w/ keys but still shows the windows desktop ...I did a search and still come up with nothing. Maybe I should get him to do it again and watch what he does? LOL

ctrl + alt + del. Click the lock button and make sure you have a password on your account.
