Updating a 2 year old laptop to Windows 7

Yeah the fact Windows 7 found them all made the install so easy.

Glad Win7 had or found your drivers. 32-bit drivers don't run on 64-bit systems, even though 32-bit programs do.

Good thing you finished in time to play Borderlands with Canti and me. I'm slowly catching up to 50, so I'll be able to play with you and Cannonfodder again at some point.

Need to get your Vista install trimmed down a bit?

Actually I ran into a similar problem on a Server 2008 install a while back on a test config. Same WinSxS folder. If I ever run into the same problem, I'll try compcln.exe.

Excellent content. I'll have to try some of these tricks at work!

very nice, I'll have to try this...

It's also wise to run disk cleanup to remove unnecessary files

Great guide, LL! I should have checked out the disk usage on my previous laptop setup before ditching Vista altogether for the 7 RC. It's also a good reminder to watch for the same usage patterns in Windows 7.

Assassin's Creed 2

Okay so primarily based on this thread, I picked up AC1 from Steam when it was sold for $5 a couple weeks ago. The mission design IMHO was lazy, since its basically the same objectives, difference city, increased guards and AI each time around.

If AC2 delivers more creative objectives, and more character "freedom", I don't see why anyone shouldn't have AC2 on their game watch list. I'm certainly looking foward to seeing its initial response.
