Galileoscope

The Galileoscope, inspired by the One Laptop Per Child initiative, seeks to bring affordable, quality telescopes to the masses. Seeing Jupiter with a $20 scope? Sounds like a good excuse for a camping trip.

This is a great initiative. Opening up astronomy to a young mind (older ones too!) can really be eye-opening and possibly life changing.

They are a blast. I have one and got one for each of my collage age girls.
At this price you don't worry about damaging it.
I took it to Utah with me last week.
Do you know now much you can see from 9,000 ft in the wilderness?
great buy.

Wow, cool Ed, glad to hear someone's actually been hands-on with one. I'd love to pick one up myself.

I'm going to buy one. I've always wanted to do a little stargazing, but could never swallow the cost of a good telescope. This is exactly the "beginner" piece I've been looking for.
