Utilities Discussion - Week 2

Thanks for all of you who gave your input last on last weeks topics.

This week we will have a "benchmark" theme.

The categories are:

1) CD Drive Speed Tester

2) HD Speed Benchmark

3) Video Performance Benchmark

As before, you can recommend up to three programs in each category, using this format:

$ - - for programs you would pay for.
F/S - - for freeware/shareware programs
XXX - - for programs you wouldn't use if they paid you.


As an example, here are my recommended programs:

CD Drive Speed Tester:
$ No Choice
F/S CD Speed 2000
XXX No Choice

HD Speed Benchmark:
$ HD Tach
F/S ATTO
XXX No Choice

Video Performance Benchmark:
$ 3DMark - Full
F/S 3DMark - "lite"
XXX No Choice

Any additional comments you want to add are encouraged - some good quotable comments will make the final article much more interesting. Please make your recommendations obvious enough so I don't miss them - I want your input to be included in what will eventually become a master list of our members favorites.
