X Won't start

When I boot debian it won't start X for whatever reason. I believe it is becuase of the resolution I triedsetting it at, but my monitor should be able to handle it with ease, but I guess lack of driver support or something. Anyways, how can I change it so that I can start X with a lower res and stuff?

Well if its drivers then it wont matter what res you set it to, it still wont work.

What GFX card are you (trying) to use?

As best thing to do would be to download, compile and install that driver, then try again, though I cant remember where the X config file is....

I have had this problem with every distro! I use a GF4 Ti4600, no big deal... but at least with other distros I have been able to startx, no problem.

I just need to know how the **** to change those settings.
