Trouble uploading/downloading work units

I'm having problems uploading and downloading work units due to some kind of suspected spyware. I'm on dial-up at the new house and my computer is uploading and downloading huge amounts of data but not WORK UNITS.

netstat shows all kinds of stuff going on...

I'm going to install adaware 6 and hijackthis, but I don't know if I can download updates due to all the data being transferred up/down.

I might also try turning on the firewall in XP and see if that helps.

Anyway....I have several completed work units that I'm having trouble getting transmitted. SM10 should have a little boost in points when I get this problem taken care of.
