Go with the effective ratings. Hex CCD's are productive to mfr per disc, and might cost a bit less to mfr than square. But interlace only results in each line painting in opposite direction from last, only is effective in very low res storage as far as very visible increase in quality, and does not do much better than a square CCD for pure quality. I would say a Camedia 4000 or better is still better than a 3+MP Fuji. The effective rating is non-interlaced quality.
