Hi all!

A couple of days ago, i gave Shorty the idea about having some official attendance from OCZ. This forum is for anybody, not just our customers. We will help anybody with just about anything here and there will be no pimping of any of our products in here at all.

My name is Marcus, but i'm known here as Mackanz and i have been here since the beginning. I can authorise rma's, but i can also make sure that your exact configuration can be tested in a professional lab. I hope you will find some use of this as we are only here to help.

Welcome MarcusOCZ, and welcome OCZ Technologies

Although it's strange saying "welcome" to an old friend who has always been a part of the short-media & icrontic family and community. He's been around longer than I have

Allow me to congratulate you on your position with OCZ Technologies. I know I personally had my first experience with OCZ memory a few months back and I was highly impressed with it. I know there are a lot of OCZ users on short-media, and I'm glad that we can provide a forum for discussions about OCZ hardware.

Prime's pretty much stated my sentiments too, Mack! OCZ is turning out some top-notch sticks of ddr. Both my PC4400 EL gold I got for my P4 rig a year ago and also the PC3200 Plat rev 2 are some fantastic sticks of ram.

Well now, this really is a turn up for the books. When did you get a job with OCZ Mack? Oh and congrats by the way, I think a support forum here can only be good for both OCZ & Short-Media.

Thanks a lot my old friends
Having your support in this was a criteria for me and if there would be any doubt at all, i wouldn't go through with it. I see you as my good friends.

Officially i was hired this weekend but i'm still working from home in Norway.
I'm still gonna be the good old "mack" to everybody.

madmat,

Where did you get those sticks and when?
As far as i know, there are no Beta memory sticks, at least not nowadays. If they are normal sticks, you have full lifetime warranty. Just shoot me an email if you have problems

Congratulations, Mackanz!

I don't post as much as I'd like to, but I'm constantly reading most of the threads created here. For the past few months, I've been working on a better overclocks for nforce2 boards (lanparty,nf7-s, and a7n8x-dlx,) and the search results that include your advice are priceless. I've learned quite a bit from reading your posts alone.

I got them from Omega and they're shod in black heatspreaders and have OCZ stickers (the h.s. have OCZ engraved in them as well) that say "BETA" on them.

I got them a few months ago and I believe they likely started out life as review samples.

Hmmm...strange one madmat. I'll look into it. Are they TCCD based? 2X512?
Do they say Platinum or Gold or anything?

Nope, they are just standard PC4200 as far as I can tell, the default SPD values are strictly 3-4-4-8 1t command rate. Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with them, they're great and fast as all get out (6300+ in sandra) but I just wondered if they had any type of warranty in case they should ever fail is all.

Thanks mack, I'll check back and see what you find out. Good luck with the new job BTW and congrats!

Guess not... That's settled, Short-Media is the BOMB I meant SHIZEL, can't use the "B" word without the FBI visiting my house, again, this week.... nevermind.
