Quoting MackanzOCZ
Generally, we are very nice when it comes to rma. It depends from case to case actually. Our main goal is to have a happy customer. The actual hardware comes in second hand. Who are we if i may ask? Do you run the web host for Corsairs support forum?
We as in the HoH board members. Just have a poster there that's attempting (very poorly I might add) to stir the waters of malcontent, but is jumping to rather large assumptions on the generalities of how memory ICs are chosen within the general memory manufacturing community. He's doing some research on something, dunno what yet. Keeps making these statements of dissatisfaction, but doesn't clarify them. All are really vague statements too. Doesn't really matter, I'm just trying to help him out by gathering info from a non-Corsair source so that he sees that certain things are not company specific but rather practices of the industry as a whole. The reason being that if one of his end arguments is what I think it may be based upon his past couple of posts, then he's getting blinded by something or someone somewhere. (Ok, now I'm the vague one LOL!)
As for my question about OCZ's warranty, I understand the "above and beyond" thing concerning cust satisfaction, RMAing memory that's not bad from time to time to satisfy the customer. Corsair does it as well, standard cust relations fare for any cust / tech support department in fact. But I was wondering what the letter of the OCZ warranty says in relation to memory that well, does what it's supposed to do, e.g. w-x-y-z @ xxx Mhz, but that may not OC to their expectations. Keep in mind I'm asking about the warranty itself, not the customer satisfaction side of tech support.
No, I don't run the web host exactly. I'm one of the admins @ the House of Help. The HoH existed on its own well before Corsair's Support forum. The HoH and Corsair have a mutually beneficial relationship. In Corsair's section, Corsair's reps hand out the RMA info stuff and the official company, like you do here, and the HoH staff treat the posters in the Corsair section like any other poster in any other section. If they have questions we can answer, we help them out. BTW, What's your opinions on the Promos ICs in general?
Oh BTW, I think I've told Prime and Shorty about this site, but you and gnome may be interested in it as well.
