Exclamation Modstream 520w and 450w Motherboard Power Cabling Explanation

We have had some questions about the cabling on the Modstream line of PSU's.

The Picture below shows the 4 pin and 20+ 4 pin (24 pin) cabling form powering your ATX 20 pin or ATX 2.0 24 pin spec motherboard.

If you have any questions please email me.

Thanks

This raises a question. And, I'm sorry to kind of hijack the thread. I didn't want to start a new one, as this isn't life threatening to me. I just got a DFI LanParty Ultra-D and it has the 24-pin connection on it. My PSU only has the 20 pin connector, and it obviously boots fine. Is there an advantage to those extra 4 pins? I believe they're 12V lines, aren't they?

It provides more stability to the NF4 boards. Especially if you use Dual 6800 cards and a load of other hardware. I'm setting up the same board as we speak and i'm in the same boat as you as i only have a 20-pin atx.

Ah. There's so many powr sonnectors on that board, it's insane. I'm actually out of molex connectors on my PSU. I've got a couple Y-Adapters if I need them, but sheesh! It seems to be an awesome board though.

The extra 4 pins give an additional 3.3v, 5v and 12v connection. The NF4 mobos should run fine with a standard 20 pin PSU but may (or may not) show some instability when OCing
