Support Cancer Research & make me look like a fool
My school (Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology) hosts the
American Cancer Society Relay For Life every year. This year, my friends have created a team.
"What is the ACS Relay For Life?", you say. People form teams and then walk around the track at our school...for 24 hours. Someone from the team must be on the track at all times. I am asking you to help support our team.
"Why would you do that?", you ask yourself. Here are a few good reasons:
- The American Cancer Society has spent more than 2.5 billion dollars on cancer research.
- The ACS helps answers questions for those afflicted with or affected by cancer
- more good reasons
- You can help make me look like an idiot...
"I want to make shwaip look like an idiot", you say. Well, read on.
Starting March 12 (or 13), I will change my hairstyle to one of the most famous cuts...ever. The Mullet. For every 10$ raised from members/visitors of this site (or family), I will keep the mullet for 1 additional day, for a maximum of 5 weeks. Individual donations can be less than $10, I will divide the total amount raised from Short-Media by 10 to find the number of days I must rock the mullet. Before and after pictures will be provided, as well as whenever requested by a donating member.
"Why would shwaip be willing to subject himself to such humiliation?", you ask yourself.
Two members of my family have been personally affected by two types of cancer, and through modern medicine, one of them, my little brother, has survived, and will hopefully lead a long, healthy life. I want to do something to help out the ACS, so that they can help those in need, when they need it. Some of you may know someone who has been diagnosed with cancer, and how gut-wrenching it is for their loved ones. If I can help cancer research in any way, I'll do whatever it takes.
I'm asking you to help the ACS, either because you want to help them out, or just to make me look like I belong in the 80's.
"How can I submit my donation to the
Make shwaip look like he belongs in another decade fund?" you ask?
You can submit a donation online, via
my Relay for life donation page. If you do decide to, make sure you post here to let me know that you donated, and we can determine how long I have to wear the mullet.
