(MSN Virus) Hey is this you....?
hi, thanks in advance for tha time and effort. that being said:
i was on msn yesterday and a friend sent me a link. He was like Hey, is this you then gave me a link with my email at the end of it. Of course i was curious, so a ran tha file and opened. Opps, big mistake!!! Turns out it was a virus and now whenever i go on msn, in like 10 mins or so it sends that same messege to everyone on my list who is online. Then its impossible to talk anymore so i just log off.
Now, i tried to run my Norton Antivirus 2002, but that program would immediatly stop scanning after a second!!!!!
I tried reinstalling it but when i get to the post install tasks, and click NEXT and it says its configuring... i get an error message that reads:
res://C:\Program%20Files\Norton%20AntiVirus\Cfgwiz.exe/CfgWizRoadmap.htm
i also tried to deal with it another way. I tried opening "msconfig" in tha "run" option, yet that shuts off in about 1-4 secs.
So i let get scanned by an online scanner and they found nothing!
i installed the spybot program and deleted 19 infected files.
i installed the adware program and deleted 80 infected files.
I tried to configure Norton antivirus again but i get the same error mesege.
So i went to the download page and tried to download that hijackthis program. But when i clicked on the download button, my internet explorer shut off.
DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING?!
