Sounds like a plain-old hardware failure to me. I had a Pioneer that had the same thing happen to it. Luckily, I bought it from NewEgg and just RMA'ed it.

Try cleaning it? I have to run a cleaner CD through both my drives every month, else I get the same symptoms as you're getting.

This happened to my Yamaha. Just took it apart, dusted and hoovered it and yay, it worked perfectly again.

woo , maybe i can try take it apart, and dust it.

I tried the disc cleaning thingy, the thing is that it wouldn't even recongize the disc, so i can play the track that's suppose to clean teh lasers, so that didn't work.

Head cleaners dont do **** to be honest, the only thing that does it a complete dissasembly maintenance of it. Tried many different head cleaners on many different drives and readers. Result = **** all.

grease the rail that the optical unit slides on. Should be a long silver rail that has thick threads like a screw

common problem common solution
